Wing was the wettest place in Rutland yesterday according to recorded rainfall figures

.40mm was recorded in the village in 24 hours, 33mm in Stamford, and 20mm at RAF Wittering's weather station. The Met Office yellow warning of rain has now been lifted.

Meanwhile, the Environment Agency has issued a flood alert for the Welland Valley from Braybrooke to Stamford, including Harringworth. The Middle Nene between West Northamptonshire and Wansford remains on flood alert as river levels remain high. meaning flooding is possible on low lying land close to the rivers.
