Men's Football

Leicester City drew 1-1 with Everton at home. N JY had given the visitors an early lead with the equaliser coming from Mavididi in the second half.


Peterborough United held on to record their first home league win of the season after beating Bristol Rovers 3-2 thanks to goals from Poku, Ricky-Jade Jones and Mothersille.


The Daniels return to the top of the Southern League Premier Central as they replace Alvechurch who they beat 1-0 away. Only goal of the game coming on 75 minutes from Will Glennon.


Oakham United lost at home 3-2 to Crowland Town, Hayden Theodare and Sam Welford the scorers.


Uppingham Town returned to winning ways in impressive style beating Deeping United 6-0. Two goals each for Ollie Bardwell and Josh Gooding with Sam Blackwell and Robbie Pearce also on target.


Wittering Premiair are through to the Senior Cup 3rd round after their 4-1 win away at Whittlesey Athletic. The FA Vase 2nd Round Qualifying saw Blackstones lose 4-2 at home to Bourne Town whilst Deeping Rangers are also out after a 2-0 defeat at Belper Utd.


Cottesmore are through to the 2nd round of the Everards Tiger League Cup in emphatic style with an 8-0 win at Leicester United. They had raced into a 5-0 lead after 25 minutes before the game was halted for 10 minutes due to a storm. The Cottesmore goals came from a Josh Clark hat-trick, a brace for Jordan Smith and goals from Robbie Dance, Matt Pope and Oli Troth.


Finally, Stamford Belvedere stay top with a 100% record, eight wins out of eight in the Peterborough & District Division 1 after a 10-1 win over Wisbech Town Reserves with Kieran Duffy-Weeks scoring four.

Women's Football

Stamford AFC trounced Arnold Eagles 7-0 away in the FA Cup 2nd Round Qualifying. Ketton Sports got their first points of the season with a 3-1 home win over Newmarket Town thanks to two goals from Sash Smith and a goal from Danni Marrison.

Deeping Rangers made it back-to-back wins with an impressive 8-1 win over Cambourne Town to go 2 nd in the Cambridgeshire Women's Division 2. Harriet Coles, Zoe Davenport and Catherine Hobday scoring two goals each with Yasmin Green and Jemma Hill the other scorers.

Oakham United’s game away to Nuneaton Borough was postponed due to standing water.

Men's Rugby

Stamford moved to 2nd in the Counties 1 table after they beat the early league leaders Newbold on Avon at home 46-14. This was after the game was called off after 66 minutes due to a storm. As the game had passed 60 minutes the result stands. Stamford ran in 7 tries including a hat-trick from Freddie Chapman with the other tries coming from Ed Cox, Ian
Downor, Fraser Hutton and Callum Robertson.


In the same league Bourne suffered their first defeat of the season away at Vipers by 17 points to 3. Oakham went down by 30 points to 8 at home to Northampton Casuals after trailing 20-8 at half-time. Will McCabe try and a Will Andrews penalty for Oakham. Both Stamford College Old Boys and Deepings remain looking for their first wins of the season. Rugby Welsh beating Stamford College Old Boys by 20 points to 3 with the Deepings suffering a heavy defeat at Aylestone Athletic 48-0.

Women's Rugby

Stamford could not make it back-back wins as they lost 22-12 at Ipswich. Anna-Louise Glendenning and Gemma
Jones scoring tries with a Daisy Attley conversion.
