Football:

Leicester City drew 1-1 at Ipswich Town thanks to a stoppage time equaliser from Jordon Ayew.

Peterborough United came back from 2-0 down to beat Newport County 4-2 in the FA Cup 1st Round. Abraham Odoh, Joel Randall and two late goals from substitute Ricky-Jade Jones.

The Daniels fought back after trailing at half-time to draw 1-1 at Leiston. Tendai Chit iza with the equaliser keep them in 2nd place.

Uppingham Town have gone top of the Premier Division of the Peterborough and District League after drawing 1-1 at Deeping United, Harley Pridmore with the goal. Oakham United suffered a sixth defeat in a row, 6-2 away at Deeping Rangers Reserves. Oakham United avoided a sixth straight defeat as they beat Deeping Reserves 4-1 away.

In Division 1, the Stamford Bels win machine and 100% record goes on with their 13th victory this time 6-1 against Hampton United. Louie Roberts with four, Jordan Neil and Callum Willimont the scorers.

Deeping Rangers lost 2-1 at Lincoln United in the United Counties Premier North, whilst Bourne Town are through to the quarter finals of The UCL Cup after winning 3-1 at Histon including a Zac Allen brace.

Blackstones in Division 1 came back from 3-1 down at home to Selston in a three all draw thanks to a double from Eddie Thorpe and a goal from Harry Peasgood.

Cottesmore lost 4-3 at home to Leicester Atletico who completed the double over them despite being 2-2 at half-time. The Cottesmore scorers were Brima Daramy, Kadeem Price and Leon Kavanagh

Women’s football:

Stamford are out of the FA Cup after losing 3-2 at home to Worcester City despite leading twice.

Captain Ellen Marson had given them the lead, the visitors then equalised, Bryony Fox with a superb strike to retore the lead on the stroke of half-time.

Worcester City made three changes at the break and one of those changes, Annie Highway levelled on 57 minutes and it was her who secured the win on 88 minutes. The drama was not over as Laura Dodwell hit the bar in stoppage time but it was not to be but Stamford can take immense pride in their performance.

Oakham United won 9-0 at home to Desford to record their fourth league win on the bounce and move them up to 3rd in the Leicestershire League Division 1. Zina Cheikh with her third hat-trick of the season, two goals each for Gemma Davies and Molly Cunningham, and one a piece for Lianne Mitchell and Dani Walder.

In two meetings this season Oakham have scored seventeen and not conceded.

Ketton Sports went down 9-2 away at league leaders Fulbourn Institute Bluebirds in Division 1 of the Cambridgeshire Women’s League. Meanwhile, Deeping Rangers are up to 2nd in Division 2 after a fifth win in a row beating Manea Sirens 5-0. A Yasmin Green hat-trick, Ali Stokoe and Sasha Beresford the scorers.
