Football:

Peterborough United lost 1-0 at Bolton Wanderers with the winner coming in the 9th minute of stoppage time.

Uppingham Town made it five league wins in a row in the Premier Division of the Peterborough and District League, 5-2 at home to Chatteris Town despite trailing 1-0 at the break. In a hectic 15 minutes at start of the 2nd half, Noah Sinclair, Sam Eldridge and two from Josh Porter put them 4-2 up, the fifth added by Cam Cleaver on 79 minutes. Oakham United could not avoid a fifth straight league defeat losing 3-0 at home to Sawtry.

In Division 1, Stamford Bels made it win number twelve out of twelve despite stubborn resistance by Whittlesey Athletic Development. The only goal of the game coming just before half-time from Louie Roberts.

Deeping United went down 3-2 in the Lincolnshire FA Junior County Cup to their visitors Lincoln United FC Development Team.

Bourne Town were comfortable 5-1 winners, which included a Zacorie Allen hat-trick away at Shirebrook Town, a result which moves them up to 3rd in United Counties Premier North. Deeping Rangers meanwhile moved out of the bottom two as they won 4-1 at home to Sleaford Town, which included a brace for Matthew Sparrow.

Blackstones in Division 1 had an excellent win at home 3-2 against 2nd placed Clay Cross Town. Nathan Rudman scoring twice and Johan Coughlan the other.

Cottesmore picked up a useful point in their 0-0 draw with AFC North Kilworth and at the same time avoiding three defeats in succession in the Everards Brewery Premier Division.

Stamford AFC ladies continued their cup form with an impressive 5-2 home win over 4th placed Basford United in the Premier League. Emma Pollard scoring two with a goal apiece for Laura Dodwell, Hollie Lewis and Andreia Oliveira.

Oakham United made it three league wins in a row beating Birstall United Social 2-0 away thanks to goals from Zina Cheikh with her 13th league goal of the season and Gemma Davies.

Ketton Sports went down 2-0 at home to Eaton Socon in Division 1 of the Cambridgeshire Women’s League whilst Deeping Rangers in Division 2 maintain their 100% record, win number four, 4-1 away at league leaders March Town United. Ali Stokoe and Yasmin Green with two goals each.

Rugby: 

Leicester Tigers are up to second, a point behind Bath in the Premiership as they secured a narrow 32-29 win away at Saracens and at same time making it four wins on the trot. The Tigers running in three tries and a penalty try.

Stamford have gone top of Counties 1 as they made it five wins on the bounce as they beat Towcestrians at home 38-28. As to Bourne, they got their first win in October and prevented a fifth defeat in a row as they ran out winners 27-10 against Stewarts & Lloyds.

In Counties 2 it was a home walk over for St Neots in the fixture against Oakham.

Stamford College Old Boys went down 63-13 away at league leaders of Counties 3 Leighton Buzzard who maintain their 100% record. The points for the Old Boys coming from a Jimmy Twoes try and a conversion and two penalties from Carl Brierley Lewis. In the bottom of the table fixture, Deepings recorded their first win of the season as they beat bottom club South Leicester 48-27.

Stamford Women have made it through to the next round of the Papa John’s Intermediate Cup, which is the highest level of cup rugby available at club rugby and means Stamford will come up against teams at level 3 and 4.

In an impressive performance away at Coalville they won 12-7 in a tightly contested game.

Daisy Attley with her trusted boot scoring all the points with four penalties, which earnt her Back of the match, whilst Forward of the match was Chantelle Miller.
