Football:

Leicester City suffered their fifth defeat on the bounce losing 2-1 at Aston Villa to remain next-to-bottom.

Peterborough United went down 1-0 away to Wrexham with the winner coming in the 87th minute. A result that sees Posh drop to 19th.

Disappointment for the Daniels losing 2-1 to Harborough Town. Robert Morgan gave them the lead on nineteen minutes. The visitors taking the lead early in the second half. Daniels had the chance in the 97th minute to equalise but the penalty was saved.

Uppingham Town stay top of the Premier Division of the Peterborough and District League after a 7-0 win at 3rd placed Whittlesey Athletic Reserves. All the goals came in the 2nd half, two each for Ollie Bardwell and Josh Porter with one a piece for Sam Blackwell, George Johnson and Noah Sinclair.

Deeping United lost 6-0 away at 2nd placed Stanground Cardea Sports.

Blackstones in United Counties Division 1 beat Pinxton 4-0 to complete the double over them. The goals coming from Josh Barrett, Will Bestwick, Johan Coughlan and Nathan Rudman.

Rugby:

Leicester Tigers picked up their first Gallagher Premiership win since October beating Exeter Chiefs at home by 28 points to 15. 

League leaders in Counties 1 Stamford made it three wins in a row whilst completing the double over Stewarts & Lloyds by 53 points to 15.

In Counties 3, Stamford College Old Boys lost 22-21 to a Sileby Town penalty in the last 5 minutes. The Old Boys tries came from Callum Fraser, Liam Greenslade and Alex Walker with 3 conversions by Carl Brierley-Lewis.

In the Gallagher English Premiership where Northampton Saints the reigning champions made up for the weather with a superb victory over league leaders Bath by 35 points to 34 and make it two wins on the bounce. The Saints scored four tries in the first half through Fraser Dingwall, George Hendy, Josh Kemeny and James Ramm to lead at the break 26-12.

Bath fought back in the second half to lead 34-32. It was left to Fin Smith to secure the win for the Saints as he scored a dramatic penalty with the last kick of the match and take his personal points tally to 15 which earnt him Man of the Match and Bath losing for just the second time in the Premiership.
