In the Premiership, Leicester City went down to their 5th league defeat in row losing 1-0 at Chelsea and have now not scored in five. Marc Cucurella's scoring on the hour. 

Peterborough United extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to six as they drew 1-1 with high flying  Wycombe Wanderers. Posh took the lead on 16 mins from a Malik Mothersille penalty only to be denied in the 3rd minute of second-half stoppage time as the visitors equalised. 
The Daniels completed the double over Barwell as they won 1-0 away thanks to a Jack Duffy goal on 27 minutes. It extends their unbeaten league run to six and leaves them just out of the play off places on goal difference.

In the Premier Division of the Peterborough and District League, Deeping Rangers Reserves extended their unbeaten away run with a goalless draw at Warboys Town. 

Normal service was restored for Stamford Bels as they beat Whittlesey Athletic Development 4-0 in Division 1 to complete the double. The goals coming from Louie Roberts with two, Harry McGloughin and Jordan Neil.  

Bourne Town made it back-to-back league wins as they beat Belper United 1-0 in the United Counties Premier Division North. Henry Dunn with the winner on 68 minutes.

Deeping Rangers secured their third win on the trot  1-0 at home to Newark & Sherwood United. 

To Division 1 and Blackstones went down for the first time this season to back-to-back defeats losing 2-0 at home to Staveley Miners Welfare. Despite being 0-0 at the half-time the visitors had served warning hitting the post on 29 minutes.  The opening goal came on the hour from Jack Deakin and that was doubled by Ethan Robinson 13 minutes later. Despite the result Blackstones remain in 4th with the visitors closing the gap on them to just a point. 

Cottesmore made it four draws in a row whilst extending their unbeaten run to five with a 1-1 draw at home to 3rd placed Anstey Town in the Everards Brewery Premier Division. Alex Brown with the goal. 

Women’s Football  

Oakham United went down 3-1 to Coalville Town Ravens who maintain their 100% league record and were the last team to beat them in all competitions back in September. It was Oakham United who took the lead through Molly Cunningham on 19 minutes which was cancelled out on 42 minutes by the league’s leading scorer Chloe Scott with the hosts a minute later making it 2-1. A third was added on 81 minutes by Chloe Scott to take her goal tally to 38 in all competitions. 

Rugby

In Counties 1, Stamford’s seven game winning run in the league has come to an end in the Lincolnshire derby at Spalding who beat them by 36 points to 17. Next up in fortnight is another local derby when they entertain in form Bourne at home.

As to Bourne, they made it five wins on the bounce as they swept aside 3rd placed Towcestrians at home 31-5 to move up to 8th. This is the third time in the last three games they have scored 30 plus points.

Moving to Counties 2 and the thriller that Oakham won against Huntingdon and District in November could not be repeated as they lost away by 66 points to 5. Tom Beach scoring the Oakham try.  

To Counties 3, Stamford College Old Boys avoided three defeats in a row as they produced their 2nd highest score of the season with a 38 points to 18 victory over South Leicester. The try scorers were a Johnny Beall double, captain Sam Duncan, Callum Fraser, Jimmy Twose and substitute Arron Biscuit as his colleagues call him. Carl Brierley-Lewis with four conversions.

Bottom side Deepings had a difficult day away at 4th placed Luton losing by 92 points to 5.

Women’s Rugby

Stamford Women completed the double over bottom side Bletchley Women by 51 points to 12 to make it two wins on the bounce in the Women's NC 1 East. The try scorers were Jorja Matchwick with four, a brace for Georgia Mackinlay and one each for Liberty Ashdown, Sophie Cartwright and Kieva Clegg. Daisy Attley with three conversions.
