Football

The Daniels could not make it three wins on the bounce losing 2-0 at home to Leiston. The visitors were ahead after only five minutes of the game and sealing the win in the 89th minute. The result sees the Daniels drop to 9th.
In the Premier Division of the Peterborough and District League, Uppingham Town stay top whilst extending their unbeaten run to 16 with their 3-1 win at Ramsey Town. The goals coming from Ollie Bardwell, Sam Blackwell and Robbie Pearce.
Oakham United could not make it back-to-back wins losing at home to Stanground Cardea Sports 3-0.  
Deeping Rangers Reserves failed to make it three wins in a row as they were held at home 2-2 by Leverington Sports whilst Deeping United went down at home to Crowland Town 4-0.
Bourne Town suffered a second defeat in a week losing 3-2 at home to Heanor Town in the United Counties Premier Division North who were two up in 20 minutes. Tom Siddons pulled it back to make it 2-1 at half-time. Robbie Ellis equalised on 76 minutes only for the visitors to snatch victory on 88 minutes.
Deeping Rangers produced a good performance away at Newark Town drawing 2-2 ending a run of three defeats.
Blackstones in Division 1 made it five wins on the bounce in style as they beat Dunkirk 6-1 away. Two up at the break, through Will Bestwick and Nathan Rudman, the hosts made it 2-1 early in the 2nd half before a Johan Coughlan double and goals from Alfie Ferguson and Matt Walker.
Cottesmore returned to winning ways in emphatic style beating Ellistown away 6-0 and were 5-0 up half-time in the Everards Brewery Premier Division. Leon Kavanagh with a hat-trick, Charlie Richards brace and Josh Clark the scorers.
 

Rugby

Northampton Saints returned to the top of the Premiership Rugby Cup Pool B in impressive style as they beat league leaders Coventry 50-23. At the interval Saints led 19-13 thanks to tries from Josh Kemeny, Tom Lockett and Angus Scott-Young. 
A good second period saw further tries from Will Glister, Billy Pasco, Tom Seabrook and Tom West with George Makepeace-Cubitt having a good afternoon with the boot scoring 21 points.
Leicester Tigers made it two wins on the bounce as they beat Nottingham 57-19 to go second in Pool B. The Tigers ran in nine tries which included a brace for Finn Carnduff and George Pearson and one each for Tom Manz, Finn Theobald-Thomas, Tom Whiteley and Joe Woodward.

In Counties 1, Bourne made it consecutive home wins as they beat Bugbrooke 22-10.
Disappointing afternoon for Oakham as they lost at bottom club Northampton Boys Brigade Old Boys 48-17 in Counties 2. The Oakham points coming from Will Strickland, Dan Watkins and Sam Weatherall tries and a David Styles conversion. 

Women’s football  

A superb team performance was produced by Stamford AFC to send 2nd placed Chesterfield Ladies down to their heaviest and only second league defeat of the season, 4-2.  
Stamford had the best possible start when Andreia Oliveira fired them ahead on three minutes, the lead was doubled two minutes later when Gina Shaw headed home from a free kick. On 34 minutes Emma Pollard broke through the visitor’s defence to score to make it 3-0 at half-time.
Chesterfield Ladies pulled a goal back on the hour. Stamford scored again through Zaiga Lacite on 80 minutes. The visitors making it 4-2 four minutes later.    
Oakham United beat Desford Ladies 7-0 away in the Leicestershire Women’s League Division 1. The goals coming from a Zina Cheikh hat-trick, Molly Cunningham brace and one each for Gemma Davies and Lianne Mitchell.     
Cambridgeshire Women’s League Division 1 saw Ketton Sports lose 2-1 at home to 2nd placed Godmanchester Town Ladies, Siobhan Dunkley with the Ketton Sports goal. In Division 2, Deeping Rangers maintain their 100% record with a 1-0 victory over March Town United Ladies who they replace in 3rd. Harriet Coles with the goal.
