Tolethorpe brings pre-loved clothing to the community

An environmentally friendly clothes sale which brings together community is taking place at Tolethorpe Hall today.

The pre-loved clothing sale is a chance to buy clothes that have been worn by others in the hope that quality fabrics can have a new lease of life with a new owner. It takes place between 10:00am and 2:00pm and a small entry charge is raising funds for the Tolethorpe Charity. Co organiser Tiffany Arntson says it celebrates community and saves the environment.

‘I think on the local community it is about connection and building relationships. So I can hand on heart say that I have made some genuine friendships that continue outside of the Tolethorpe clothing sale umbrella through this sale. I think like anything in life, you know, if you share common interests, then there's more likely to be a connection. So I think that's a really important part of the sale. In terms of flying the flag for pre-loved and actually you know extending the life of an item and keeping out of landfill’.
