Stamford Pantomime Players begin run at Corn Exchange

It's curtain up on one of Stamford's oldest festive traditions this afternoon, as over 60 performers of the Stamford Pantomime Players from five years old to veteran performers begin their run at the Corn Exchange.

The theatre group would It was founded in 1951 as the Stamford Players and this time presents Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs up until New Year's Day. Justine and Nicola, who've helped put the show together, say they love the audience involvement.

"We have to have certainly the dame and the innuendo that everybody loves and the children don't get and that's fine by us and we love all of those bits of entertainment of everybody from the young to the old.

And there's old songs, there's some Queen songs, there's some new modern songs, I'm even singing a Lady Gaga  song. Please cheer us, boo us, whatever needs to happen at the time, laughing and singing along. Yeah, we want all of that."
