A group of women from Stamford has raised over £600 for displaced children from Palestine in a fundraiser over the weekend.
They took part in yoga and a sound bath at Waterfurlong in Stamford yesterday. Marleni Hill, who joined two other local teachers to put the event together, lived in Palestine herself for several years. She said they felt compelled to do something to help.
‘We're raising for the Anjal Foundation, which is a foundation in Oxford that supports displaced children from Palestine, from Gaza. They support their mental health and education. So many orphans now they have to carry on education and business schools in Gaza to go to. And this school year started this week by business schools to go to, so they're trying to set up things there for children’.
