Rutland and Stamford's MP Alicia Kearns took the unusual step of speaking in the meeting at Catmos House last night, she says, to ensure all voices will be heard.
"And it should be a rare thing. Look, we have councils for a reason, but here I was tonight. I was making sure that all the members of the public who came to my public meetings, who feel their voice isn't being heard, were represented. And I was also here because we wanted to make sure all councillors had a vote on the future of Rutland, not just the leader. And I'm overjoyed that we've secured it."
