Rutland's Air Ambulance has revealed it attended over 800 callouts across Leicestershire and Rutland last year, making it the most visited part of the Midlands for the service.
Over a third of flights were medical emergencies, a quarter road traffic collisions. Each mission costs £2300 and the service, which is shared with Derbyshire, only keeps flying because of public donations, including proceeds from the two shops in Oakham.
