Drops Of Jupiter (Tell Me)

Matilda Jr and A Chorus Line at the Corn Exchange

One of the West End's top musicals for children comes to Stamford from today, as Matilda Junior becomes the 11th full production in 5 years for Stamford Showstoppers.

The younger members of the society take the lead at the Corn Exchange, with the adult performers staging A Chorus Line from tomorrow night.

Both shows run until Saturday. Matilda Junior includes the familiar songs, Scooters and The Chokey. The cast of around 60 local children, including two teams of Matildas and Trunchbulls, are up for the challenge.

"It's quite amazing because you don't really realise until you've auditioned that you've got such a big part."

"It's a really, really popular musical movie and story and it's such a nice story to do with all the positivity."

"It's a lot of responsibility to get it right but it's so cool seeing it all come together and all the props that you recognise from the film and the books and the costume and everything. It's very fun."

"As mean as it is, it's lovely being a Trunchbull. It's very nice to just get out of your comfort zone and just, like, it feels good when you're doing it. I'm sure you'd agree with me."

"Yeah, it's really fun."
