Cheer Upp! cast to entertain at Uppingham Theatre

Source: Henry Dawe website

In just over two weeks until two nights of fundraising radio style comedy at Uppingham Theatre where proceeds will help make a music video to promote Rutland.

Cheer Upp! is written and hosted by Henry Dawe after two High Sheriffs asked him to put together a new song for Rutland which will be sung by Rutland Youth Choir. The evenings of comedy will take place at Uppingham Theatre on the 24th and 25th of October. Tickets are free but donations are welcome on the night to help the project. Founder and writer Henry Dawe says he's called on some talented friends to help him on stage.

‘I'll be hosting the show and then there's four other actors who are going to be coming on board with me. So there's a chap called Sandy Thompson who lives in Ryhall. He's done a lot with Stamford Shakespeare Company over the years. He's a good friend of mine. And then I brought an actress who I had seen performing with Tolethorpe many times called Cami Carter. So local audiences may know those two names and then we also have Ben Walsh. He's an actor based in Nottingham and Emily Brooks who's an actress based over near Coventry. So I've spread the net a little bit wider because I happen to know Ben and Emily through different spheres and I brought them into the local mix and we're really looking forward to putting on a show, which hopefully will raise a good lot of funds’.
