Two drivers escaped with minor injuries
after one had run out of fuel on the A1 at the weekend and hadn't pulled off the carriage way when he had the opportunity. The other vehicle had gone into the back of the stationary car at very high speed. Fire crews and the air ambulance were among those who attended the incident on Saturday. Both drivers were collected by their families. The police ask that you call them for help if you break down and, ideally, pull off the carriage way, put your hazard lights on and get out of the car to a safe distance.
