Evergreen Care Trust 20th Anniversary Ball

Evergreen is an award-winning charity that provides care, friendship and practical support through a range of free, volunteer-led ’hands on’ services that are highly valued by the older members in our community. 2025 sees the 20th anniversary of our founding in May 2005 and we are already off the starting blocks with a celebration ball to be held at the Rutland Hall Hotel on Saturday 26th April. The ball plays an important part in our ability to raise much-needed funds.

Yet although we advertise our services as ‘free’, they are clearly not cost-free to us. As a small charity, we work hard to raise the necessary funds to enable us to provide the necessary support. We do so with a mixture of our own fund-raising efforts, regular donations from those ‘Friends of Evergreen’ who are supportive of our aims, and the generosity of members of the local community. This kind and very welcome support plays such a vital role in enabling us to continue our work.

To put some figures on our services, annually our volunteers provide over 5,000 hours of Befriending; 1,600 attendances at our Friends Together Group and Friendship Lunches; over 100 receive help from our Advocacy team; our Hand & Nail teams provide ‘pamper’ sessions to over 250 care home residents; our Community Support team actions over 150 requests for help (such as lifts to hospital and small DIY jobs); Chaplaincy & Listening carry out over 100 visits to those needing a sympathetic ear; our Clean Teams respond to a variety of requests, and each week we visit and deliver a nutritious meal to some of the most vulnerable in the local area.

The evening includes a tombola stall, for which we have already received many excellent prizes, as well as a silent auction where guests can bid on a terrific and eclectic mix of donated gifts. You will be pleasantly amazed.

The ball, which offers a three-course meal and dancing, is open to all and tickets cost £43 a head. Why not plan on taking a table of ten friends and colleagues and having some fun?
