Bluebell Walk or Cycle Ride for Crohns & Colitis UK
Sunday, 5 May 2024
- Time
- 10:00 - 17:00
- Venue
- Rutland Water (Whitwell), Whitwell, LE15 8BL
Participants will be given passports which will be stamped at each marshal point, so you can proudly show your friends and family. The 2 mile walk takes you through the Barnsdale Woods which will be filled with a carpet of bluebells. It really is breathtaking! Then you head back to the registration village and carry on around to Sykes Lane for the 5 mile walk. If you fancy it, you can continue across the dam, to the Normanton Church. This is the longer and more strenuous challenge!
If however a cycle ride is more your cup of tea, choose to ride the perimeter of Rutland Water. Keeping the shore on your left, you will see some magnificent views and take in the wonderful local wildlife. The shorter, 17 mile route cuts out the peninsula but if you choose the longer route of 25 miles, you'll also navigate around this fabulous piece of land that reaches right out into the reservoir.
